Significant changes were afoot in 1974 for the Jazz Bass®. The bridge pickup had been moved about half an inch closer to the bridge only the year before, and 1974 saw the last of the four-bolt necks for quite a while. Further, the slim C-shaped maple neck was re-sculpted with a meatier U-shaped profile (and acquired a walnut "skunk" stripe), white fingerboard binding and pearl block inlays made their first appearance, headstock "bullet" truss rod nuts were first adopted, and black pickguards replaced their longstanding tortoiseshell predecessors.

The American Vintage '74 Jazz Bass encompasses many of the above features and is the sole member of the new American Vintage bass lineup to offer a choice of maple and round-laminated rosewood fingerboards, each with white binding, pearl block inlays and 20 vintage-style frets. Other authentic features include a urethane-finished alder body (ash on Natural-finish model), three-ply black/white/black pickguard (three-ply white/black/white on Black model), new American Vintage '74 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups, upper-mounted thumb rest, vintage-style bridge with single-groove steel "barrel" saddles, '70s-style "Fender"-stamped open-gear tuners, four-bolt "F"-stamped neck plate, chrome pickup and "F"-stamped bridge covers with vintage-accurate positioning, and more. Here we have wonderful Fender Squier JV 57 Precision Bass. It is the highly sought after first edition that was made for only a few months in 1982.it has the little Squier logo on the outer headstock. Look at the beautiful sen ash grain on the body. Everything is original to my knowledge, Only minor fret wear this bass is set up wonderfully with Thomastic strings.
Serial number is shown a very very low JV0xxxx. You can see there are two small holes where a bridge cover was installed at one time. Tuners are original reverse tuners as the were in 1957. A true gem this bass is.
this is The JV bass to collect,these first series are very hard to find and especially in this condition,this bass will be delivered in an original era correct Fender plastic hardshell case.

In 1965, a bound fingerboard was introduced. In 1966, block fingerboard inlays replaced dot inlays. In 1969, a black-bound maple fingerboard with black block inlays became optional. By the mid-1970s, pearloid block fingerboard inlays and white binding became optional on maple fingerboards. In 1975, a three-bolt neck and neckplate design were introduced.

The Fender Elite range (Precision, Strat and Tele models) was made in 1983 and sold between 1983 and the start of 1985. They were "premium" models, similar in concept to the current "Deluxe" models and followed on from the "Special" models of the early 1980s. The concept was to revise some of the existing Fender designs with new technology, while retaining as much of the "classic" appeal as possible. Unfortunately, an abysmally poor tremolo implementation on the Stratocaster model gave the whole Elite range a poor reputation in the market place, though in fact the Precision bass model is an excellent instrument. The reputation wasn't enhanced by the remaining stocks of all Elite models being sold out at "fire sale" prices at the start of 1985, as part of the preparation for the sale of Fender by CBS.
The Precision Elite came in two basic models, a single pickup type and a dual pickup type. On top of this basic model type, there were choices of a maple plus rosewood or all maple neck, plus choices of chrome or gold finish on the metal hardware.

here we have a very sought after Fender Jazz Bass Japan Vintage (JV).
This bas was a very early production JV with a 6-01-82 neckdate shows it was made june 1th,production started in April of 1982 for the Jv series.
This is a Domestic Jv only made for the Japanese market,these basses are the closest thing to the original Leo Fender Jazz basses.
It shows a 3 tone sunburst Alder body-1 piece maple neck with a rosewood fretboard-2 Usa made Jazz pickups-Usa hardware.
This was also a custom made order Jv jazz bass,it shows the special made neckplate with the name of the original owner still on it.
This is a very nice almost 30 year old Fender Jazz Bass 1962 Reissue JV.
It shows of course wear on body- neck and moderate wear on frets,some pitting on the chrome bridge,but this is normal for a bass this aged,its a natural relic.
It plays wonderful and the sound is amazing like the vintage original Fenders out there.this has the C stamp in neckpocket,so i believe its a poly finished laquer

Fender Squier Japan Jazz bass in excellent, almost mint condition.
Full Scale Model made between 1995-1996

Molded Jazz Bass Hardshell Case included
This bass looks to have been stored for most of it's life with very little evidence of any playing time. This particular year model featured a one piece pickguard without the metal control plate and stratocaster control knobs. The original strings were still installed on the bass when I received it and have since been changed to a brand new set of nickle plated roundwounds. The frets show very little to no wear and the whole bass is in excellent condition. There is a tiny nick just above the neck plate, the size of a pen tip. The only other small cosmetic blemish noticable is what appears to be a "squier series" logo on the top of the headstock that has been scratched out by the previous owner. Should be visible in the picture of the headstock. Very small area and hardly visible. The neck is straight, truss rod nut looks untouched, and the action is set low with no buzz. The control knobs feel like new and all electronics work perfectly.
A WONDERFUL PIECE OF JAPAN QUALITY WHICH CAN COMPETE WITH THE USA MODELS.

Fernandes Revival Series Jazz Bass early 80's made
It hasn't got the serial number, however, the neck plate has "Stone" logo.
This was very common on early Fernandes Reveivals,i also have seen this on the strats and tele's, this should be early production model.
It is good condtion and parts should be all original condition.
The neck is straight, frets and electric circuits are all proper condition.
The truss Rod is fine too. The nut width is 38.95mm.
There are several visible dents. But it is not really bad looking for a bass this age,and it gives the bass character.
Weight is 4.70Kg as standard weight of JB.

Made in Japan.
This is a vintage Tokai Jazz Bass original factory fretless model Jazz Sound.
Finished in the awesome color Candy apple red.alder body maple neck with rosewood fretless fret board.
It still has the Fender like head stock so it is a 1983/84 model.also it has the reversed tuners.
In 84 Tokai had to change the head stock into a own design due of lawsuit threads by Fender.
This makes these models more collectible.
This bass is in very good condition,some minor paint chips but overall a 8 out of 10.
Frets very good,there are flats on it now and sounds and plays just great.
Bass is 100% original and comes in a sturdy brown hardshell case.

The Jazz Bass offers up serious player-centric upgrades in a traditional package. The body is alder for great looks and tone. The 34 inch scale maple neck features a 9.5 inch fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. Dual SCN Noiseless pickups are hooked to an active EQ and pan pot for tons of tones. The chrome plated bridge can be top loaded or strung through the body for more sustain. the tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a gorgeous Sienna sunburst. Nice appointments include abalone dot markers and a cloisonne Fender logo. A great bass with nice looks and features!
I like the feel of most every American Deluxe Series Fender that I've had in stock. This Jazz Bass is no exception. The modern C shaped neck feels good. The pickups and on board electronics sound nice allowing you to come up with tons of new sounds. This is a very nice used bass. In very nice condition with no breaks repairs etc,just some mild play wear, so Nothing major and still very attractive. Comes with an aftermarket hard-shell case with some road wear
The American Deluxe Series are some of my favorite Fenders. Killer looks and great tone and feel. The quality is excellent and they are a great value compared to Custom Shop instruments

Fender Jazz Bass JV Japan Vintage 1982 very Early !!!.

here is a true collectors piece a very Early JV jazz Bass from 1982 april 21th 1982 to be exact.one of the earliest i ever came across personally.
Fender Japan started these series in 1982 so this has to be one of the first Batch came of the line.
stamped C in body pocket means this is a Poly finished Jazz ,beautiful Alder body with some paint-chips dents etc all honest play wear.tortoise pick-guard with holes for finger rest and on the pickup towards the neck pickup the 2 little holes for the cover.
see also the copper ground-wire from bridge pup to bridge !
the pickups are USA made Fullerton,one of the previous owner(s) scratched away the made in japan on the front of the head-stock,this is something many did at that time.
chrome hardware with what i believe reversed tuners and threaded saddle bridge.
wonderful 3 tone sunburst finish,the maple neck with a rosewood fret-board and what looks to me clay dot inlays,the later ones have pearloids,frets are very good !!
sound is killing and plays smooth and easy,
also included is the org japan made maroon gigbag.
these basses are collectors now and sought after !!

Aims Precision bass Japan made 70's

Mid - 1970s Aims P-Bass copy. These were made for Don Randall after he left Fender and started Randall Amplifier...hence the Fender-ish look. More than likely made '74-'76. It looks to be a Fujigen build, same factory that made the Ibanez and numerous other Fender-style copies of that era. Actually where Fender ended up contracting to manufacture their original MIJ models...known for their quality.
Very cool, not a lot of use or wear. As usual, the chrome covers were removed, but thankfully are still in the matching factory case. Only two original mounting screws survived, however. Everything works as it should and sounds killer.
Rare, especially in this condition. Great as a player or for the vintage MIJ collector.
