This is a discontinued Pro Tone series Pre Bass. The quality is very good, it`s in very good condition too. The Fender Elite range (Precision, Strat and Tele models) was made in 1983 and sold between 1983 and the start of 1985. They were "premium" models, similar in concept to the current "Deluxe" models and followed on from the "Special" models of the early 1980s. The concept was to revise some of the existing Fender designs with new technology, while retaining as much of the "classic" appeal as possible. Unfortunately, an abysmally poor tremolo implementation on the Stratocaster model gave the whole Elite range a poor reputation in the market place, though in fact the Precision bass model is an excellent instrument. The reputation wasn't enhanced by the remaining stocks of all Elite models being sold out at "fire sale" prices at the start of 1985, as part of the preparation for the sale of Fender by CBS.
The Precision Elite came in two basic models, a single pickup type and a dual pickup type. On top of this basic model type, there were choices of a maple plus rosewood or all maple neck, plus choices of chrome or gold finish on the metal hardware.

here we have a very sought after Fender Jazz Bass Japan Vintage (JV).
This bas was a very early production JV with a 6-01-82 neckdate shows it was made june 1th,production started in April of 1982 for the Jv series.
This is a Domestic Jv only made for the Japanese market,these basses are the closest thing to the original Leo Fender Jazz basses.
It shows a 3 tone sunburst Alder body-1 piece maple neck with a rosewood fretboard-2 Usa made Jazz pickups-Usa hardware.
This was also a custom made order Jv jazz bass,it shows the special made neckplate with the name of the original owner still on it.
This is a very nice almost 30 year old Fender Jazz Bass 1962 Reissue JV.
It shows of course wear on body- neck and moderate wear on frets,some pitting on the chrome bridge,but this is normal for a bass this aged,its a natural relic.
It plays wonderful and the sound is amazing like the vintage original Fenders out there.this has the C stamp in neckpocket,so i believe its a poly finished laquer

It hasn't got the serial number, however, the neck plate has "Stone" logo.
This was very common on early Fernandes Reveivals,i also have seen this on the strats and tele's, this should be early production model.
It is good condtion and parts should be all original condition.
The neck is straight, frets and electric circuits are all proper condition.
The truss Rod is fine too. The nut width is 38.95mm.
There are several visible dents. But it is not really bad looking for a bass this age,and it gives the bass character.
Weight is 4.70Kg as standard weight of JB.
