MATON GUITARS ALL MODELS &TOMMY EMMANUEL SIGNATURE

Maton Guitars, Australia's undisputed number one in the Premier League "of guitar manufacturers, is for many top international guitarists the first choice.

Founded in 1946 by Bill May, MATON is regarded as one of the producers with the longest tradition. Not least by its distance from the mother country of the acoustic guitar, America, could MATON at developing an independent concept.

For the most part, Australian timber species, such as Queensland Maple, Queensland Walnut, Australian Blackwood and as an alternative to cedar or pine, Bunya, a very hard, used in Australia growing hardwood, for the ceiling. Necks are made from exclusively from MATON Queensland Maple. This very hard, often visually "unspectacular" Wood is an important building block for the clear and unmistakable percussive sound MATON, world-class guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Michael Fix and many others appreciate so much.

A particular focus has been laid on the strengthening of the acoustic sound. Therefore you familiar with Maton Guitars exclusively on pick-creations from their own home. Instrument Preampdesign and pickup are perfectly matched. The only way an acoustic guitar sounds at very high volumes lively, dynamic and powerful, can sound just as only a MATON guitar.

LARSON BROS GUITARS

The mid-1890s until the early 1940s created the brothers Carl and August Larson a remarkable heritage of high quality string instruments. During this period a multitude of different guitars, harp guitars, mandolins, cellos Mando, Tipler and ukuleles, under various brand names such as Maurer, Prairie State, Euphonon, Dyer and Steel were traded.
The Larson's invented a number of creative design and technical features: The Laminated Bracing, lifted the metal support rods at the Prairie State instruments, the production of ceiling and floor structure under tension and a number of other features, it clearly from its competitors.
In 2006 decided Roman Zajicek, one of the leading guitar manufacturer in Europe, and the German product designer Toni Goetz to revive the legacy of Larson's new. After more than half a century will now be rebuilt Larson Guitars - under strict observance of those innovative concepts, which applied the Larson's about 100 years ago the first time. All the wonderful little details that made up a Larson-guitar once, you will delight in the new edition of this legend again! It offers remarkable and finely crafted instruments, which offer the typical sound characteristics of their ELEPHONE (0 93 66) 999 79

Here's an early Takamine Steve Wariner Signature model guitar. It was purchased new in 1992 and has had one owner the whole time. It's # 205 in a limited edition and is signed by Steve twice. It's signed once on the label and then once on the inside of the guitar before a performance at the Little Nashville Opry in Nashville, TN. The date was added by the owner. This guitar is a near mint condition, with only some surface scratches from light picking and a very minor ding on the backside, which is pictured. The guitar comes in original hardshell case  I haven't seen too many of this version, just of the newer one with the cutaway. Here's your chance to get a unique Steve Wariner / Takamine piece!

The Dobro trademark was owned by Semie Mosely from '67 to '70 when the Dopyeras re-acquired the Dobro name. The OMI Dopyera dobros from '67 to '70 were named "Hounddogs". In 1970 the Dopyeras got the trademark back and renamed it the OMI Dobro They built OMI wood bodied dobros in California until Gibson bought the dobro name in 1993 with the instruments still being made in California until production was moved to Gibson Nashville in 1997. The Dopyera made the OMI Dobro from 1970 to 1993 is more in demand than the Gibson OMI dobros and used models are priced accordingly. The '92 OMI was you mentioned was still made by the Dopyeras and should've commanded a higher price. Many resonator enthusiasts consider the OMI dobro model 60DS from 1970 to '79 to be the best of the old timey sounding dobros. If you can find one, jump on it like a Robin on a junebug. Next in demand are the 1980-1988 OMI 60DS models then come the 1989 to 1993 models. Almost all 60DS OMI models were made with maple veneer bodies and slotted pegheads and vertical tuners

Each direction represented a certain area of the world and each guitar had unique appointments in body woods, rosettes, and fingerboard inlays. In 2006, Yamaha introduced an entirely new line of Compass models that had three digit model numbers. In 2011, Yamaha introduced System 65T electronics on all their CPX models and they became the second series (CPX Series II).

Like the J-45s after 1969, the re-introduced J-55 has a square-shouldered jumbo body with a double-X braced solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, although some J-55s have a maple neck rather than the J-45’s mahogany neck. Like the post-1975 J-45s, it has a non-adjustable rosewood bridge,  a 25 ½” scale, a 14/20-fret rosewood finger board with pearl dot inlay, a multi-stripe inlaid rosette, the re-designed larger tortoise pick guard, and tortoise body binding. The only other difference of which I am aware is the J-55’s arched mahogany back, allowing for lighter bracing while still projecting the huge sound for which vintage Jumbo Gibsons have been famous for decades.

This is why the Doc Watson has a 1 ¾” neck with jumbo frets. All Doc Watson models have mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top with voiced bracing. GIBSON J40 DREADNOUGHT 1974 VINTAGE

The Gibson J-40 is a jumbo-style guitar with a solid spruce top and mahogany back, sides, and neck. Gibson introduced the line in 1971 as a "no frills," stripped-down, more economically friendly version of Gibson's famed J-45—something like the “Working Man” series which replaced the J-40 in the 1980s. This particular instrument was made in Kalamazoo, Michigan: its serial number (A401624) indicates it probably was made in 1974—although Gibson’s serialization is rather slippery in that period.

The earlier J-40 had rosewood strings-through bridges that were pinless [unlike this one], but later versions featured pins on the bridge. It had a 14/20-fret rosewood finger board with pearl dot inlay, a large tortoise pick guard, and full body binding. It had three-per-side “Gibson Deluxe” nickel tuners, and a screened logo on the blackface Gibson headstock. It was clearly designed to represent a working man’s guitar, with no frills and no fuss—nothing but the huge sound for which vintage Gibsons have been famous for decades.

HOWEVER, in 2004 a previous owner decided to add some “bling” to the “working man” image, and luthiers Phillip and David Petillo were contracted to make upgrades which are meticulously listed on an index card taped inside the sound hole. This included exotic woods and abalone on the truss rod cover, position markers, and bridge, with an elephant ivory nut and saddle, and Nigerian ebony pins and such(WHICH BY NOW REPLACED TOO) So now it looks kinda like a Martin D-45 superimposed on a Gibson mahogany body. The old nickel tuners have also been replaced with vintage-style open tuners. You’ll have to decide for yourself what you think of the effect—and effectiveness—of the mods, but it’s for sure nobody else at your jam will have a Gibson like this one!

Cosmetically, this 43-year-old veteran has fewer nicks and dings than you would expect, but there is a 1 ½” bruise along the top lower bout edge.
There is perhaps a very faint  “2” indented on the back of the headstock, possibly because of the finish, which has bled onto the spruce top around the edges (I personally think it looks kinda cool, like a minimalist sunburst, but I’m sure that in 1974 it was perceived as a flaw). The other issue is another typical Gibson problem: the tortoise binding is apparently drying or something all the way around, top and bottom; none is missing, but there is considerable discoloration and cracking despite some attempts to stabilize it, as is evident in the pictures. However, this ol’ boy sounds and plays great and is ready to go

The case is the original Gibson arched-top hard shell case—kind of a deluxe version with a royal blue plush interior. It is in good shape, inside and out, and the guitar fits perfectly. The hardware all works, and there are no significant tears in the exterior. It is an excellent vintage complement to this excellent and unusual guitar.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL AGED J40 WITH LOTS OF ROADWEAR A TRUE RELIC !!
IT'S A REAL PLAYER,UPGRADED BY NOW FAMOUS LUTHIER DAVID PETILLO WHO'S CURRENTLY MAINTAINING NO OTHER THEN BRUCE SPRINGSTEENS GUITARS !! MANY MORE PICTURES IF YOU NEED THEM JUST EMAIL !!!
